June 10, 1936 was established in the Soviet Union`s largest studio animated films "Soyuzmultfilm", which included a variety of workshops based on the animated multstudii GUKF.The first cartoon, released at the studio, called "Africa hot.".
A year later appeared and color cartoons.In 1947 they released their first full-length a cartoon film "Humpbacked Horse".In 1953 was organized by the Association of puppet films.
His first success was the cartoon "Pencil and Blot - happy hunting.In 1960-1970-ies beyond constellation of films, serials with regular characters: "Mowgli", "The Kid and Carlson", "Umka", "Just you wait", "The Bremen Town Musicians," "Winnie the Pooh", "Crocodile Gena" and others.
By mid-1980 Soviet animation production has declined sharply.
In December 1989, "Soyuzmultfilm" was transformed into a rental company, and later the basis for the joint-stock company "Soyuzmultfilm".In June 1999, by order of the Government of the RF studio has been restored to its original status and registered as a Federal State Unitary Enterprise "studio" Soyuzmultfilm.
