In 1833, the village blacksmith, and a self-taught electrician from the American heartland, Thomas Davenport learned that Joseph Henry invented the electromagnet and uses it for the enrichment of iron ore.Thomas Davenport bought a novelty Henry, studied it and began to produce very compact magnets.
For insulation of wires in the course went wedding dress of his wife.Thomas Davenport cut it into strips and wrap their wires.Very soon the engine was ready.
And in 1835, Thomas Davenport showed the audience a model of circular railway, on which rode a small locomotive.The diameter of the road was 1.2 meters.Long, Thomas Davenport was unable to patent his invention.
While there was no patent rules of electric machines.And on Feb. 25, 1837 Electric self-taught, finally received a patent for "Improvements in motor technology with the help of magnetism and electromagnetism. |
