"Work" - one of the oldest newspapers bulk of Russia - was born Feb. 19, 1921 edition of the daily work-Russia Central Council of Trade Unions.Newspaper published that highlights the socialist competition for fulfilling the people`s business plans, improving the efficiency of social production, the issues of cultural events and educational work, and reflect the foreign policy of the Soviet state, Soviet public opinion on international issues.Copies of the first issue amounted to 150 thousand copies.
Already in 1975 the newspaper had a circulation of 8.3 million copies.Record print run - 21 миллион 584 thousand copies - was registered in June 1990.In the "perestroika" years the newspaper has ceased to be an organ of Trade Unions and October 1990 emerged as the "newspaper of the trade unions of the USSR.Then, in September 1991, its founder became editorial staff, and from July 1997 - an autonomous non-profit organization "Revision of the newspaper" Trud ".At different times in "Trud" published Vladimir Mayakovsky and Yevgeny Yevtushenko, Nikolai Rubtsov, Vasily Shukshin and other famous authors.
Today is "Work" - Russia`s national newspaper, is among the most widely read periodicals.
